The poem revolves around the heroic quest of the Sumerian king Gilgamesh of Uruk to fight of death. It tells the important stories of human relationships, love, friendship, and vengeance. The poem is written in a Uruk hieroglyphic script, which contains elements of both Sumerian and early Akkadian languages. # The Epic of Gilgamesh The Epic of Gil is a Sumerian story that tells the tale of the Sumerian king Gilgamesh of Uruk. It was written in late 3rd millennium BC. # Structure of The Epic of Gilgamesh The story is divided into 4 acts. ## Act 1 The first act tells of Gilgamesh and his appeal to Uruk to become a god. Gilgamesh is also a friend of Ecgameshad, who declares war on Gilgamesh. The first act concludes with the death of American politician Javier Atkins. ## Act 2 The second act narrates Gilgamesh and his trip to find the sage Izard.
