LOL-153 of machine learning and data science, I wanted to offer a more inviting image of what a role in data science and machine learning can look like. I think that shows up in the image I posted [above](https://www.dataquest.io/user/kcranmer/products/dataquest/s/2021/ai/ml/interviews/3l/01_ml_3l.png) of the role of an ML engineer, which is working in a team building and improving ML systems for data scientists. I am also working to make it easier, more accessible, and more inviting for people to get into and participate in the ML field. I also want to share that getting into ML (and other data science fields) isn't necessarily as hard as many people make it out to be. It's important to get the knowledge and skills necessary to do the work, but the skills have a lot of overlap with other engineering disciplines. I would also like to share more about the role of an ML engineer, and that it's not just working in data science labs (as many people think) and that there are a lot of opportunities for working in ML systems. In particular, I have lots of ideas for interviews with data scientists and other data scientists that can help make this easier for people to get into. This year, I am also making a push to offer more interview questions in the course curriculum here.
